MANOS
As a class project, we were given an assignment of blending in with people we do not know and spending the whole day with them and photographing them. This was to get to know them and connect with our subjects. I chose to photograph nursery workers and highlight what they do. I picked one called Roseland which is run by a three-man group (sometimes they hire one more if they get too busy). As you see these photos you'll notice two, the other person is the boss who manages the customers, contractors, workers, and the plants. Then there is the youngest one named Luis, who is seen wearing a baseball cap with sunglasses and the one next to him is named Epifeño which they called Epi for short. They told me they love to joke around with each other such as calling each other "Viejo" (old in English). Then there is Florencio the manager who is seen wearing an earpiece in his right ear. As I continuously visited them I got to know them more on a personal level. I ate and drank with them listening to their stories of when they were young or their problems back home. I am truly grateful they allowed me into their worlds and photographed them.
